EMERGING WITH A STRATEGY: MAKING WAVES IN THE INTERNATIONAL ARTWORLD

The masterclass will be in English și will be coordinated by dr. Wiktoria Michalkiewicz, Founder/ Talent Agent & Strategist/ Artistic consultant, REZO AGENCY. The sessions will take place at CdRF (str. Popa Tatu 68, Bucharest).

The goal of the masterclass is to help the artists who seek to map the

industry of professional photography, to find their way in it. The

emphasis will be on the strategic approach to advancing participants’

career, based on individual portfolios of the artists. but also on

advancing the content of their portfolios and their work-in-progress.

After the Masterclass, the Participants:

– Will have an overview of the complexity of the international photography

industry and its main pillars: public and private art institutions,

galleries, festivals, photography agencies, collectives, art fairs, and the

media. They will also learn how to position themselves in the complex

global network or art practitioners.

– Will understand the significance of relevant platforms for exposing the

work to reach maximum potential.

- Will receive the tools to design the roadmap of their desired career

path, as well as practical advice and case studies of successfully

implemented career strategies.

– Will understand the idea of representation - both in the art and

commercial world, as well as learn how to define expectations towards their

representatives and navigate wisely between art and commercial worlds.

- Will get the understanding of approaching the content of their

portfolios to have relevance for international audiences.

Dr. Wiktoria Michałkiewicz is an interdisciplinary specialist with a profound passion for storytelling, talent management, journalism, and photography. Her academic journey encompasses an impressive range of accomplishments, boasting five academic degrees that include a PhD in Sociology and MA degrees in Social Anthropology and Cultural Studies from esteemed institutions such as Stockholm University, Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona, Lumière University Lyon 2, and Jagiellonian University. Moreover, her expertise as a PR and communication specialist has further amplified the impact of the artists she collaborates with.

In one of her most recent roles, Dr. Michałkiewicz played an integral part in the expansion of Fotografiska Stockholm to Tallinn and New York as part of Fotografiska International. Her contributions to the renowned photography institution showcased her exceptional organizational skills and strategic vision in navigating the global art landscape. In 2021, fueled by her passion for supporting artists and empowering them to thrive, she established REZO, a consulting agency focused on designing global career strategies for visual artists. With a keen understanding of talent management, international art PR, and art advisory services, Dr. Michałkiewicz’s agency has become a trusted resource for artists seeking guidance on their creative journeys.
