Research and ethics in documentary projects

We are opening registrations for a workshop for those who document social issues led by photographer Laura Pannack (UK). Laura will present the key elements: research, ethics and pitch.

The workshop is addressed to all those involved in social documentation work – photographers, journalists, writers, visual artists – and aims to explore the essential stages of research, ethics in approaching delicate themes, and ways to propose projects for publication.

You will have the opportunity to discover how a documentary project is structured and developed, how to build a relationship of trust with the subjects, and how to navigate the ethical dilemmas inherent in this type of endeavor.

Laura will also share case studies from her own experience and provide practical advice on how to present and promote your projects to publications or cultural institutions.

The workshop is an opportunity to learn from the experience of an internationally recognized professional and to be part of a valuable conversation about the impact and responsibility of documentary work in contemporary society.

Laura Pannack is a London-based artist. Known for her portraiture and social documentary photography, she explores the complex relationship between subject and photographer. Her work has been exhibited and published widely internationally, including at The National Portrait Gallery, The Houses of Parliament, Somerset House and the Royal Festival Hall in London.

Throughout his career, his creations have been appreciated and have won numerous prestigious awards, including the John Kobal Award, Vic Odden Prize, World Photo Press Awards, Juliet Margaret Cameron Award and HSBC Prix de la Photographie.
